Observatory for Cornwall - Wheal Busy site
Wheal Busy is the site that we are planning to develop as the observatory. It benefits from a dark sky and clean air. At present it is a green field site but work has started to develop the Observatory.

No 1 Observatory - Wheal Busy
This is our first project at the Wheal Busy site due for commencement in the spring of 2002 and completion by the Autumn.
The project is to clear and prepare the Wheal Busy site and self-build a small observatory by the end of the year.
The project will be undertaken by members and supporters on a voluntary basis and we hope that materials will be donated.
The work involved includes ground clearance, trench digging, foundation digging and laying, blockwork, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and so on.
We also need materials, in particular, timber, concrete blocks, electrical cable and fittings, plumbing fittings, etc. A detailed list of materials is shown below.
If you can provide any of the materials as a donation to the project we would be particularly grateful.
Let us know how you can help by completing the Volunteers form.
